What is spam ?
'Spam' is defined as the sending of unsolicited mass mailings. This widespread practice uses the formidable power of Internet, especially its very low cost for sending e-mails, to 'flood' millions of electronic in-baskets with unsolicited messages. The extremely low rate of return seems, nevertheless, to be sufficient to make this sort of practice profitable, but these campaigns are generally the work of organizations seeking to do a quick 'deal' and not very concerned about their image. Poplist is firmly opposed to these practices which harm the image of Internet and which constitute an invasion of privacy for those who surf the web, by imposing on them unsolicited messages often of a commercial or propaganda nature.
Why is Poplist not spamming ?
All the addresses in the Poplist system are there by opting-in. The users have all voluntarily subscribed to one of the mailing lists that we manage. To be sure of the voluntary nature of their subscription, they receive a confirmatory e-mail which validates their subscription only if they clicked on the confirmation link in the e-mail.
It is also possible for them to remove their registration at any time using the direct link to be found in all the e-mails they receive from our system.
